We are seeking a motivated, talented and strategic Design Director. Are you a creative genius? Passionate about all things branding and FMCG packaging design? Memilus Vietnam is looking for an experienced design director to help creatively lead and inspire our team, working with some of the most well known Vietnamese and global brands. You will be based in Vietnam (HCMC) and work primarily on Vietnam based projects though projects from other SEA countries may arise from time to time. You will be a part of a bigger global team with interaction with our international studios, opportunities for short-term office exchanges, and plenty of exciting work! The working environment is both interesting and challenging, yet also very rewarding.

You Are

10+ years of experience at equivalent packaging area and experienced leading and managing the designer team.
Good negotiation and presentation skills.
Good English communication is a must.
A high level of proven creativity.
Be strategic and understand the 'world of business'; structuring brand hierachy.
Proven strategic, creative identity creation on-route to application and roll-out.

Helpful Experience

Leading design and finished art team.
Together with account service, understanding the opportunity, the brand and assessing ideas against this opportunity, then selecting ideas that best fit.
Providing clear direction to designers, illustrators, finished artists, photographers and printers to maximize outcome and ensure deadlines are achieved.
Anticipating client objections, reactions and questions, and preparing responses together with account service.
When required, supporting the Creative Director in representing design in strategic client presentations, meetings and de-briefs.
Undertake and assure full responsibility for the development and on-going management of the Memilus Design brand's corporate identity and image.
Take action to keep abreast of changes within the fast moving consumer goods sector and innovations in packaging.
Project tasks may also include management of work to go on our company website, new business presentation materaials, and external literature.

We are a small team where each individual member works on many different projects and has a hand in the direction of the product.

Some of our key technical challenges and areas of focus:
- New tab extension context requiring fast page rendering.
- Scaling an API to 50M API hits/day.
- Free/Plus version delivery in same package
- Building out the product offering and surrounding infrastructure

You Are

- A developer with 2+ years of industry experience.
- Academically educated or self-taught with a strong grasp of computer science fundamentals.
- Detail oriented and aware of edge cases when designing, building, and debugging.
- Pragmatic and able to make good decisions among tradeoffs of speed and quality.
- Appreciative of well designed products and user experience.
- Passionate about working on something you find meaningful and resonate with the Momentum vision.

Helpful Experience

- Experience building web based javascript applications.
- Experience with Javascript, Backbone, Node, Vue, C#.
- A particular specialty whether front-end, back-end, platform (Azure), or mobile.
- Experience in a startup, SaaS, or other entrepreneurial pursuit.
- A demonstrated passion for software such as a history of side projects/product creation.
- Up to date with industry practices (agile, source control, APIs, security).
